DEVO Halloween video evidence!

Here, finally, is some video of our exciting adventure portraying DEVO on Halloween! Below is the whole set in two videos (?), starting with a sloppy version of “Sloppy” and a rockin’ version of “Freedom of Choice”. 2nd video features fast and furious versions of “Gates of Steel” and “Uncontrollable Urge”.  Enjoy!

T-minus Devo

Halloween is fast approaching. Be sure to cancel your other plans, abandon the kids, and/or sneak out to West Seattle to catch Mountain Kids Fantasy and friends as Devo! The fun starts at 8, and we close out the show around 11. Help us win the coveted Golden Cowbell!

MKF on Halloween

1. Mountain Kids Fantasy is becoming Devo for “Come As You Aren’t”, a night of tribute acts at the Skylark, in West Seattle. Joining us onstage are Kenny Harder and Tony Trunzo. You should come, and if you dress as Devo too, you could help us win valuable prizes! The Skylark is at 3803 Delridge Way SW, Seattle, WA 98106. The show is free and commences at 8:00.

2. Yes, we now twitter or tweet or tweeter on Twitter. Something like that. You should “follow” us. twitter.com/mtnkidsfantasy

Thanks for coming to the Skylark!

We had a fun show, and saw some friendly faces. And even though a week of sweltering weather took its toll, the Skylark wasn’t too hot – we’re glad our gig wasn’t on Wednesday, when it got up over 100 degrees! Thanks to everyone who came out. Now Mountain Kids Fantasy shall hibernate for a bit as we work on recording…stay tuned to the blog for sneak previews of songs-in-progress!

Playing the Skylark on July 30th!

Come see Mountain Kids Fantasy at the Skylark Cafe on July 30th! As always at the Skylark, it’s a free show, the food is tasty, and the drinks are drink-y. We’re up second at 10 PM – see you there!

Jules Maes on Friday, June 26th

Mountain Kids Fantasy is taking a break from recording to play a show at Jules Maes on Friday, June 26th. We’re up first and it should be a great show. Come check it out!

And to celebrate, here’s a rough/unfinished mix of something we’ve been working on. Enjoy!

MarsBar, Saturday, March 14th!

Friends! Fellow Americans! Our next show is at the marsBar on Saturday, March 14th! We’re playing with Greg’s other band, Mighty Shiny, and Hijack Maria.

Mountain Kids Fantasy opens the show, and will have guest musician James Movius sitting in for a portion of our set, producing the power trio version of MKF. Next up are Mighty Shiny rocking out a new song or two, and the evening closes with Hijack Maria. We’re on pretty close to 9 PM sharp – come early and say hello and have a drink! Cover is $6.

Kick-ass poster put together by Rhonda Pelikan (from Mighty Shiny).

[post-show edit:]
Thanks to everyone who came out…we had a blast. And Doctor Doctor & Sam Squared both rocked. Hopefully we’ll play with them again sometime. Our next show is on 3/14 at the marsBar, playing with Greg’s other band, Mighty Shiny – we’ll have a few new songs and some surprises in store, so be sure to come on down!

Live Sat., 3/14 at the marsBar!

Not right away, mind you, but Mountain Kids Fantasy are reemerging from the snow and clouds to play a show on Saturday, March 14th, at the Mars Bar! We’re opening for Greg’s other band, Mighty Shiny, and an outfit called Hijack Maria. Rhonda of Mighty Shiny writes some awful nice pop songs, so there’s twice the incentive to come. It should be a swell time for all. Mark your calendars! Whee! Whoop-whoop!
