Babies love Mountain Kids Fantasy

Studies have shown that babies have an unerring sense of what will become popular in the coming years. Even though the executives tend to take the credit, companies such as Sony and Dreamworks SKG keep toddlers on staff to decide which films to produce and which new musical artists should be signed. If the below photo is any indication, Mountain Kids Fantasy is going to be the next big thing.

1. Devo 2. Twitter

1. Mountain Kids Fantasy is becoming Devo for “Come As You Aren’t”, a night of tribute acts at the Skylark, in West Seattle. Joining us onstage are Kenny Harder and Tony Trunzo. You should come, and if you dress as Devo too, you could help us win valuable prizes! The Skylark is at 3803 Delridge Way SW, Seattle, WA 98106. The show is free and commences at 8:00.

2. Yes, we now twitter or tweet or tweeter on Twitter. Something like that. You should “follow” us. twitter.com/mtnkidsfantasy

Recording is fun and good for you.

Greg is great at making home recordings sound better than home recordings. We’re chugging right along, recording newish songs, as well as putting the finishing touches on older songs. I’m really looking forward to having a finished product this Fall, one that everyone will purchase at a competitive, reasonable price. So, start saving up your milk money!

Mighty Shiny at the Skylark – Sat., 9/5

Greg’s other band Mighty Shiny is playing at the Skylark this Saturday, September 5th. It’s their last show of the year (probably) and is free, so you should go. What, you’re gonna watch Sheryl Crow at Bumbershoot? You don’t wanna do that. Details here.

New recording: “Strike Two Stones”

Recording is going well. Slow but steady. Here’s a rough mix of a killer new song (I didn’t write it so I can say that). We discovered that Malkah’s acoustic guitar run through her 15-watt tube amp sounds pretty nice, and that I can still sing high harmonies and play bass. Enjoy:

Thanks for coming to the Skylark!

We had a fun show, and saw some friendly faces. And even though a week of sweltering weather took its toll, the Skylark wasn’t too hot – we’re glad our gig wasn’t on Wednesday, when it got up over 100 degrees! Thanks to everyone who came out. Now Mountain Kids Fantasy shall hibernate for a bit as we work on recording…stay tuned to the blog for sneak previews of songs-in-progress!

Mountain Kids Fantasy new merch!

Some new designs are up at Mountain Kids Fantasy’s Zazzle store. Order now and attend our next gig in style!

Jules Maes on Friday, June 26th

Mountain Kids Fantasy is taking a break from recording to play a show at Jules Maes on Friday, June 26th. We’re up first and it should be a great show. Come check it out!

And to celebrate, here’s a rough/unfinished mix of something we’ve been working on. Enjoy!

MarsBar, Saturday, March 14th!

Friends! Fellow Americans! Our next show is at the marsBar on Saturday, March 14th! We’re playing with Greg’s other band, Mighty Shiny, and Hijack Maria.

Mountain Kids Fantasy opens the show, and will have guest musician James Movius sitting in for a portion of our set, producing the power trio version of MKF. Next up are Mighty Shiny rocking out a new song or two, and the evening closes with Hijack Maria. We’re on pretty close to 9 PM sharp – come early and say hello and have a drink! Cover is $6.

Kick-ass poster put together by Rhonda Pelikan (from Mighty Shiny).
